In this role, you will be a key member of the Mechanical Engineering R&D team ensuring products move smoothly from the concept phase, through prototyping and qualification, and finally to full scale production. You will be the Mechanical Engineering team's liaison to the NPI Program Managers and primary point of contact with the other functional teams. You will work closely with, and coordinate the work of, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Hardware Release Managers, Component Suppliers, and JDM/ODM partners.



Responsibilities:



+ Manage multiple concurrent interdependent development tasks to ensure they all come together as a product.


+ Identify NPI development dependencies, define critical paths, and develop risk mitigation contingencies


+ Develop and maintain detailed project schedules while ensuring alignment with the product's overall Program Schedule


+ Define and track the team's prototype allocations


+ Define and track the mechanical prototype build plan to support EVT/DVT efforts


+ Help identify and improve process and program efficiencies.


+ Interface between vendors and Supply Chain teams.


+ Concisely and clearly communicate plans and their statuses to Management




Education and Experience Required:



+ Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.


+ Four to six years' technical project management experience with the ITE hardware development process


+ A proven track record of managing complex hardware product schedules and engineering prototype builds.


+ Familiarity with any of the following areas is desirable: sheet and cast metal design and tooling, plastic injection molding, power supply development, hardware validation methodologies, JDM/ODM development, Regulatory Compliance (EMC, RoHS), Product Quality methodologies (Cpk, Six Sigma)


+ A technical background in Mechanical Engineering is especially desirable.


+ PMP/PMI or equivalent training or certification is a plus.




Knowledge and Skills:



+ Ability to use project planning tools and software packages (such as Project or Excel) to create, manage, and track project results.


+ Excellent English written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally are essential as you will be the development team's central point-of-contact for all questions regarding schedules, prototype allocations, and progress updates.


+ Strong work ethic, determination to succeed, desire to grow professionally, and most importantly the willingness to learn new skills.
