HPE Corporate Development, Global Leader of Merger & Acquisition Integration



HPE's M&A Integration Team sits within our Corporate Development organization, which is part of the Office of the CFO. The team works directly with HPE's senior executives to define, analyze, and shape HPE's overall M&A integration strategy, and ensure the financial and operational targets of each transaction are fully realized.



The Global Leader of Merger & Acquisition Integration will report to Vishal Bhagwati, Senior Vice President - Corporate Development M&A. This person will manage a small team of M&A Integration leads and leverage resources across the organization to execute his/her job.



The Global Leader of Merger & Acquisition Integration is responsible for ensuring the successful integration of acquired companies and the ongoing monitoring of financial performance against board approved financial targets. The scope of the role includes working with the HPE executive team and deal teams to provide support for acquisition due diligence, development of overall integration strategy, execution of Integration Management Office (IMO) programs and governance processes, and coordination of quarterly performance reviews for all acquired companies. The position requires that the individual brings sound experience in strategy formulation, business transformation, and multi-functional operating roles to develop the integration strategy, execution plan, and provide the leadership to ensure that the integration delivers business results.



The HPE M&A integration process is highly matrixed, with subject matter experts from all relevant functions working at the direction of the IMO. The individual must demonstrate strong planning and communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders across different work streams and business units. These include working closely with Corporate Development deal teams and functional partners such as R&D, Go to Market, Finance/Payroll, Human Resources, Tax, Legal, Controllership Finance, IT, and Global Procurement. Pro-active engagement, ability to cope with high peak workloads and short deadlines will be part of the position.


This role requires very strong collaboration and communication skills, a broad understanding of HPE operations across multiple functions, and good working relationships at both the executive, and individual contributor levels.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



+ Lead M&A Integration team


+ Understanding the Financial Business Case for the Deal


+ Participating in Due Diligence


+ Defining the overall integration strategy tightly aligned with the Financial Business case for the deal


+ Developing a plan for "Day One" execution


+ Determining the level and depth of Integration with input from sponsors and teams


+ Providing integration leadership at all levels


+ Develop governance process and communication plans to keep stakeholders updated; this requires identifying and establishing partnerships with stakeholders in the business and functions


+ Create detailed Integration Plan


+ Monitor status and quickly resolve issues throughout the Integration process


+ Ensure that HPE has maximized the value of the deal and realized all synergies


+ Execute After Action Reviews of each deal to ensure key learnings are institutionalized for future transactions


+ Contribute and develop M&A best practices for the company and assist in developing structured integration frameworks and playbooks to ensure consistency and repeatability of the process.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



+ Bachelor's degree in Business or related field. MBA preferred.


+ 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in M&A integration or large scale business transformation programs


+ Strong written and verbal communication, and executive presentation skills


+ Proven track record of delivering results through influencing cross-functionally in highly matrixed program structures


+ Demonstrated ability to develop overall strategic direction while also maintaining detailed oversight of program execution
