VP, Product Management - Data Protection
The Vice President, Product Management - Data Protection will lead and manage a team responsible for Veritas' portfolio of Data Protection products and services. This person will develop the strategy and product roadmap and oversee the execution of the strategy in collaboration with other departments. This is a critical, highly visible and strategic leadership role within the company. The Vice President of Product Management, Data Protection responsibilities include end-to-end management of the software-design services for the Data Protection suite of Products and reports directly to the EVP, Chief Product Officer.


+ Drive analysis of existing and future market and technology trends around software-defined storage, including how these trends will create opportunity for Veritas' Net Backup and Backup Exec
+ Drive engagement with customers and external facing stakeholders to understand and analyze customer and partner needs across a highly competitive and evolving landscape
+ Leverage trends, new and potential customers and competitive information to define and execute upon overall business plan
+ Collaborate with executive leadership and partner with Finance, Business Operations and Sales to develop and drive business cases and plans for existing offerings and incremental or new innovations
+ Partner with Engineering leaders to drive Agile delivery of both existing and new Net Backup related solutions across a 3 year+ roadmap
+ Develop and drive comprehensive go-to-market plans for existing and new Net Backup offerings including either delivery or collaboration across marketing, demand generation and customer acquisition, internal and external Sales enablement, route-to-market and partnering opportunities across all segments
+ Lead high performing team of Product Directors, Product Owners and Technical Product Managers **Qualifications:**
+ Domain knowledge in areas of software-defined storage, overall storage market, continuity market and cloud market is preferred
+ Thorough working knowledge of lean and agile development processes with a proven track record in using these skills to develop and manage products and people through the entire product life cycle
+ Greater than 8 years building and delivering enterprise class products that delight customers
+ Proven experience leading and managing high performing teams
+ Strong awareness of technology trends, influence and impact
+ Strong level of strategic thinking and ability to translate strategy into execution plans with a bias towards action
+ Superior analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative
+ Crisp and effective executive communication skills, including significant experience presenting cross-functionally and across all levels
+ Ability to build and develop durable relationships across product teams, sales engineers, marketing, etc. to support research and strategy execution needs
+ Strong self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovative environment
+ Enterprise and large enterprise segment experience (both direct and indirect). Business development experience preferred
+ Previous management consulting experience is a plus
+ A willingness to re-locate to the Bay Area, if necessary
